weave and dye is a project by Dobrawa Brach Kaluzna.

I am a designer and textile artist working with natural materials and traditional techniques of hand weaving and natural dyeing.

I create fabrics from hemp and linen an paper yarns.

My work is conceptual in nature, open to interpretation, and invites dialogue.

Through working with material and form, I engage in reflection and explore the relationships between craft, the environment, and contemporary design.

Based in a beautiful seaside town on the East Coast of Ireland, I am inspired by the surrounding nature and influenced by the strong tradition of craft and making in Ireland and my homeland, Poland.

In 2024 I graduated with First Class Honours from the MA in Design for Body and Environment at the National College of Art and Design (NCAD) in Dublin. I hold a master degree in art history and diplomas in project management and climate entrepreneurship and human rights.

I am the winner of the the Institute of Designers of Ireland 2024 Graduate Award in Design Research by Practice). My work has been presented at "INTERDEPENDENCE – Exploring Opposites" during Milan Design Week (2025) and at an exhibition at NCAD Gallery (2024). I co-curated, alongside Prof. Alex Milton (NCAD), the A'Design exhibition at The Coach House in Dublin (2015).
